Michael Jay Floyd, age 64, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his home. He was born the youngest of three children to Homer Caney and Barbara Pope Floyd, July 9, 1957 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Mike was raised in Hialeah, Florida and moved away when he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for nearly 8 years. He received a medical retirement at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon his retirement in 1985, Mike returned home to Ponce de Leon, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Floyd.
Mike is survived by his partner of 19 years, Pam; two loving children, James, and Regina and her husband Wayne; his mother, Barbara; two brothers, Jeff and wife Joanne, Corky and wife Vickie; one grandson Jay J; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Bowers-Floyd Family Cemetery in Ponce de Leon, Florida with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
