Michael Ryan Fitzgerald

Michael Ryan Fitzgerald, age 41, of Destin, Florida, passed away June 1, 2021. He was born May 1, 1980 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to Michael Terry Fitzgerald and Nina Robson Destin.

Like most of the Destin family, much of Michael’s youth was spent working on the fishing boats with his grandfather and uncle.  He always loved fishing and being on the water.  He realized later in life that his calling was helping his fellow brothers and sisters in recovery.  While employed at Through the Archway, he was able to use his skills and knowledge to fight for those who were not able to fight for themselves.  

Michael was an avid fan of all sports, especially baseball and the Atlanta Braves, but most important to Michael was his love for his children and his family.  Michael is survived by his mother, Nina Robson Destin; father, Michael Terry Fitzgerald; children, Rylee Destin Fitzgerald and Michael Greyson Destin Fitzgerald; siblings, Arin (Chris) DeBerry, Bobbi (Jeremy) Burke, Kyle Fitzgerald, Kelly Fitzgerald and Cris (Amanda) Gonzalez; uncle, Dewey (Rebecca) Destin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 7, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of Destin, 154 Calhoun Ave., Destin, Florida, 32541. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow at Destin Memorial Cemetery.
