Master Sergeant Jon Marcus Scott, Retired

Master Seargent (Retired) Jon (Jammin’ Jon) Marcus Scott, beloved husband, son, brother, cousin and uncle was born on the 18th of April, 1962 in Lansing, Michigan. He is survived by his best friend, soulmate and wife Deborah A. Scott, his mother Joyce Scott, his brothers Jim Scott and Gary Scott, his sister-in-law Deb Scott, his cousin Barbara Walker-Boettcher, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jon passed away on the 19th of January, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father James H. Scott and grandparents James and Lillian Scott and Victor and Heidi Maki.

Jon graduated from Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and attended Pennsylvania State University. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on the 6th of January, 1984 where he received extensive training in linguistics and communications. He was a decorated combat veteran of the Persian Gulf and Kosovo and served at numerous stations around the world where he received many commendations and medals. Jon married Deborah on the 6th of November, 2009 and has spent every day since building a life full of love with his wife and their dogs. He was a man of honor and pride who was proud of his home, his family and his country. His family was very proud of his service and accomplishments. The world was a better place because of him and he will be missed.

There will be a gathering in memorial at 10:00 am on the 23rd of January, 2020 at his home (reach out for address if needed) where we will be proceeding promptly at 11:00 am to precession to commence at the Barrancas National Cemetery on Pensacola Naval Air Station, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida 32508. All are welcome to come and honor the memory of Jon Marcus Scott and in leu of sending flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
