Mary Augusta (Obermire) Scott
Mary A Scott, 86, recently of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and prior a longtime resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 3, 2021 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born June 18, 1934 in Stuart, Nebraska to Gustave and Viola (Henning) Obermire. Mary graduated from Stuart High School and briefly taught in a “Country School” for a year before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend Lincoln School of Commerce. Shortly after Mary moved to Lincoln, she met Jim and they were married on May 29, 1954. Beloved wife and mother of seven children, she enjoyed many activities, especially reading, sewing, crossword puzzles and playing cards with friends.
Survived by children, Gregory (Kay Kafka) Scott, Omaha, Nebr.; Theresa Wilksen, Fremont, Calif.; Wendy (Ed) Peace, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Michelle (John) Prichard, Orlando, Fla.; Leonard (Veronica) Scott, Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kale Garfield Sr., Logan (Devendra) Wilksen, Kyle Scott, Sam Peace, David Scott, Anna Scott, Marissa Scott, Kyra Prichard, Jessica (Josh) Hankenson, James Kafka, Shannon (Josh) Collette, Eric Peace and Karen Peace; great grandchildren, Kale, Jr., Joslyn, Jace, Julia, Janna, Jillian, Jaron, Ashley, Emily, Mallory, Ian, Abby, Elika and Cameron.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, James B. Scott; daughters, Kelly and Roberta; two brothers; three sisters and a brother in infancy.
The family extends their deep appreciation to the Harold Scott family for their kind help, support and friendship of our parents.
A visitation will take place Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, 245 N. 27th St., Lincoln, NE 68503 with burial at Wyuka cemetery after the visitation.
