Mary Emily Regans, 82, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away at home June 10, 2026. She was born April 8, 1944, in Niceville, Florida, to Hollie and Onie Myers. Mary was a woman who never met a stranger. She loved talking with people and sharing stories about growing up and the many things she saw and heard while tending bar through the years. Her warm personality and caring heart made everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, flowers, and fishing. For 20 years, Mary fried chicken in Freeport, where she gained many “bonus” kids and grandkids who loved her dearly. She truly enjoyed working and being around people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollie and Onie Myers; one brother, Truman Myers; two sisters, Sherry Franklin and Louise Wilson; and her nephew, Buford Wilson.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Candace Berwanger of DeFuniak Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Marlow of Ebro; grandchildren Chastity Pruitt and Ryan of Crestview, Hayley York and Chance of Lagrange Georgia, Harley Hunter DeFuniak Springs, and Tyler and Jake Marlow of Ebro; great-grandchildren Jack and Alice Lobo, and Ethan York; her special niece, Zerlina; and her beloved cat, Baby Thang.
Mary will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her storytelling, her kindness, and the love she shared with family, friends, and all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83, North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 2:00 p.m. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal will follow at Early Cemetery.
