Martha “Louise” Adams, a most caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, left her earthly home, at the age of 89, on January 6, 2022, to manage her mansion in the sky.
Louise was born on September 7, 1932 in Laurel Hill, FL to Rob & Rosie Deese. After 20 years of school food service with the Okaloosa County school board, she retired in 1980 to focus on her mother & grandchildren at home. She was a very active member at Oakdale/Valley Road Baptist Church for over 50 years, and attended every service until her health prevented her from doing so. Her passion was to feed the masses and it wasn’t unusual for her to drop off baked goods to others on a daily basis, or to ask you “What do you want to eat?” whenever you visited her home. She found pleasure in caring for many others, especially at the nursing home, where she met many people while volunteering at the nursing home during her mothers stay. She was affectionately known as grannie and mama to so many people because she was the definition of what those enduring words mean.
Louise leaves behind a grieving family who will extremely miss their Little Woman/Little Grannie/Nana; her beloved husband of 72 years, Joseph “JW” Adams, her daughters Sandra Rytman and Lynn (Alan) Rogers; her grandchildren, Kristy (Josh) Kolmetz, Cindy Gainey, Heather (Donald) Faulkner, Corey Rogers, Haley (Chris) Busbee; a sister, Annette Jones; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her children, Tommy Adams, Shirley York, Betty Adams, her grandson, Timmy Gainey, her parents Rob & Rosie Deese & her siblings, Lois Lane, Lloyd Deese, Ina Hawthorne, Lillian Moreno and Jeanette Essary.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Davis Watkins Crestview Memorial with visitation at 1pm, celebration of life at 2pm and graveside services immediately following at Live Oak Memorial Park.
