Margene "Gene" Redmon Collinsworth

Margene Collinsworth went Home to be with her precious Lord October 15, 2021.  She was 76 years old.  She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Redmon on September 18, 1945.  

Margene was a member of the First Methodist Church of Darlington, Florida, where she served as Youth Director in her early years.  She knew the importance of teaching children about Jesus and loved working with the babies.  She was a God-fearing woman and reminded her children often to behave themselves!  She was an outdoors woman who loved her flowers, gardening, and hunting with her man!  Gene was always the perfect hostess; she welcomed family and friends with hot coffee and sweet treats.  She loved to ride the gator out in the country, visiting with neighbors, and if they happened upon a turkey, it might just end up dinner!  Harold and Gene spent quality time doing her favorite things, which included fishing, sitting on the porch drinking coffee, and watching the neighbors go by.

Margene is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Shelton Redmon; mother, Edna Jewell Redmon; brothers, Larry and Carl Redmon; sisters, Christine Redmon Day and Helen Redmon Parrish; and loving daughter-in-law, Keri Collinsworth.

Margene's survivors include her husband of 57 years, Harold Collinsworth; son, Loren Collinsworth; daughter, Sharon Collinsworth; granddaughter, Brittanee Kae Collinsworth (finance' James Boswell); great grandson, William Dale Boswell; brothers, Donnie Redmon and wife Tamara, Phillip Redmon and wife Regina, Micah Redmon and wife Angie, and Archie Redmon and wife Lori; along with her sister, Eleanor Warren. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with a time of visitation held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Gaskin Cemetery.
