Marcella (Marci) Ann (Justice) Hicks-Ferrell, 68, of Shalimar, Florida passed away of natural causes at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on Sunday, June 27, 2021.
Marci was born on July 3rd, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Daisy (Baber) and Johnny Justice. She was married to John Hicks, who preceded her in death, for 21 years. She earned her Associates degree at Monroe County Community College and worked at the same location as the secretary for the Math and Science Division until 1998 when she and her husband John relocated to Florida. She then worked as a secretary for Grace Church in Fort Walton Beach.
Marci enjoyed and was skilled at knitting, crocheting, painting, singing, and just about anything else that entertained her many artistic talents. She especially loved bible art/journaling and taught the skill to those who had interest to learn, and writing, as she was a published author. She loved her pets and spoiled them accordingly. Marci was a member of Grace Church. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her boisterous personality. She will be missed dearly by those that loved her.
Marci is survived by her mother, Daisy Catlett, of Napoleon, Ohio; Her daughters Melanie Sparks of East Lansing, Michigan and Melissa (Chad) Keeran, of Napoleon, Ohio; and her stepdaughter Farrah Hicks, of Florida. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Shayla, Daythn, and Devin, of Florida; Alex, of Michigan; Ethan and Carli, of Ohio. She is also survived by her nieces Jamie VonBokel and Jodi Franklin, both of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her father Johnny Andrew Justice; her stepfather, Fred Catlett; her brother Johnny Justice Jr. and her long-time husband John Hicks.
There will not be a public visitation or service, per Marci’s wishes.
