Mallie Margaret Allen

Mallie Margaret Carroll Allen, 98, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at North Okaloosa Medical Center.  She was born February 23, 1924 in Darlington, Florida to James Edward and Hattie Scott Carroll.  Mallie enjoyed reading her bible, dancing to Elvis music, watching wrestling and Atlanta Braves baseball games, and working on her puzzle books. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friend; especially watching her grandchildren play sports. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Carroll and Hattie Scott Carroll of Darlington, Florida; husband, Willard Allen of Niceville, Florida; daughter, Evelyn Hoke of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; siblings, James Lloyd Carroll, Dallas Carroll, Dearon Carroll, Millie Carroll Engeseth and Billy Carroll; and grandson, Garrett Allen.           

Mallie is survived by her children, Jewel Faye “Judy” Morgan (Dennis) of Samson, Alabama, Willard “Buddy” Allen (Elizabeth) of Crestview, Florida, and Ronald “Ronnie” Allen (Cheryl) of Crestview, Florida; siblings, Doug Carroll, Peggy Carroll Mize and Myrtle Carroll Wright; grandchildren, Debra Funk (Merle) of Mellwood, Arkansas, Robert “Bobby” Hoke (Brooke) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Heather Hoke of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Keith Hoke of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Edward “Eddie” Allen (Julie) of Hoover, Alabama, Amy Carr (Ren) of Prattville, Alabama, Melissa Allen of Crestview, Florida, Jared Allen (Kristie) of Milton, Florida, and Ronald Wayne Allen of Crestview, Florida; twenty-three great-grandchildren, and twelve great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at noon with Minister Joel Davis officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Committal services will follow at Limestone Cemetery, 967 Oak Grove Road, Darlington, Florida.
