Mae Doris Brown

Mae Doris Brown, age 78, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at home under the care of Regency Hospice.  She was born on October 16, 1941 to Lamon and Sadie Wood in Goshen, Alabama.  She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Beulah First Baptist Church in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Goshen First Baptist Church, Goshen, AL.  She received her formal education in Crenshaw County and graduated from Crenshaw County Training School.  She moved to Ft. Walton Beach in 1964 where she met her loving husband, Harry Brown, a marriage that lasted over 55 years. 

Becoming a military wife, her travels took her to Florida, Texas, California, Virginia, England, Holland and Jordan.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Brown; son, Anthony W. Brown (Akierah); granddaughters, Aleyia Brown, Aryanna Brown and Aniyah Smedley; sisters, Dorothy Harris (Clinton), Mae L. Hough, Lossie Horne, Ivory Water, Velma Wood, Jearldean Bethune(Walter), Neldia Walker (William); brother, Johnny Ray Wood, one uncle and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mae Brown was preceded in death by her brother, Lamon J. Wood and sister, Ella Cure.

A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2020, Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, Fl 32547 with a viewing to begin at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow after the service at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 NW Beal Parkway, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548.
