Louis Farrer Roberts

Louis Farrer Roberts, age 88, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Marianna, Florida. He was born April 27, 1934, to the late Ellison Roberts and Lizzie Mae Farrer Roberts in Fayetteville, Georgia. Louis became a farmer at 2 years of age. He graduated high school as the salutatorian of his class and proudly served his country in the United States Army, Army Reserves, and Air Force Reserves. Louis was a flight engineer for Eastern Airlines, and met his future wife, Dolores, while working there. During their sixty-four years of marriage, they raised three children together. He was also a small business owner of two laundromats. In May of 1972, Louis returned to farming until his passing. Always a hard worker, he produced chickens and beef cattle, but his life passion was cows, cows, and more cows. 

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Ellison and Lizzie Mae Roberts; and his brother, George Roberts. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Roberts; three loving children, Cheryl Roberts, David Roberts, and Kenneth Roberts; one grandchild, Alex Roberts (Andi); and sister, Carolyn Carmack.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, 32433, with Minister Vince Smith officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at Lisbon Cemetery beginning at 1 p.m. with Minister Joel Davis officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
