Louis Redmon Obituary

Louis Howard Redmon, age 81, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. Louis, “L.H.,” was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, on August 18, 1944. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Louis dedicated 33 years of civil service at Eglin Air Force Base before retiring. He was a hardworking man with a special gift for construction and remodeling, and he could build or improve almost anything he put his hands to. He enjoyed hunting and simply being outdoors when his health allowed. Louis had a strong work ethic, a steady nature, and a deep love for his family. He shared a special bond with his son-in-law, Craig, with whom he felt especially safe and cared for. His family will remember him for his quiet strength, his skills, his loyalty, and the comfort of his presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Henry and Oneita Nelson Redmon; brother, John D. Redmon, and wife, Christa; and four sisters, Carolyn Owens and husband, Derward, Willie Jean Hada and husband, Pyke, Ottie Karl and husband, Albert, and Gennieve Nelson and husband, Sidney.
