Lois Karen Pease, age 81, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of DeFuniak Springs, Florida surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 13, 1938, in North Tonawanda, New York. She was a past Grand Martha of the Order of the Eastern Star of New York and an active member of the Red Hat Dollies. In her spare time, she loved to travel and was an avid football fan. She enjoyed cheering on the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but most of all she supported her hometown Buffalo Bills. She lived in Rochester, New York from 1966 to 1992 before moving to DeFuniak Springs. Lois was employed with Sandestin Reality for 15 years before retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bruce M. Pease; parents, Rudolph and Harriet Gurney; and brother, Gerald “Jerry” Gurney.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Judy Allison and husband Richard and Patricia M. Davis; three grandchildren, Marie E. Wilson and husband Aaron, Laura A. Allison and Joey Wilkerson, and Alliya Joy Young; one great-grandson, Andrew; sister-in-law, Betty Krager; cousins, Bill and Anna Pease, Raymond and Jenny Pease, Sheryl Pease Morgan, and Bill Dunn and Samantha; and numerous extended family.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Joel Davis officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Fort Walton Beach CVICU unit for the love and care given to their mother.
