Lois Johnson Obituary

Lois Ann Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. Lois was born on September 30, 1945, in Monkton, Maryland and was the daughter of Grason Harris Jr. and Catherine Elizabeth Harris. She grew up in Monkton, Maryland and graduated from Hereford High School in June 1963. She continued her education at Park College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Care Management in 1979.

She went on to earn a Doctorate in Theology from Christian Life School of Theology in 2001. Lois married Bernard Hall Johnson Sr. on March 14, 1964, at Asbury Methodist Church in White Marsh, Maryland and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together they raised three children: Deborah Lynne Johnson, Bernard Hall Johnson Jr, and Angela Michelle Johnson Smith who will forever be grateful for her unconditional love and support.

Bernard and Lois were called to the ministry in 1981 while members at Apostolic Faith Mission in Tuskegee, Alabama. Bernard, Lois and the children relocated to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida in 1984 where they continued ministry in their home. In 1988 Lois served alongside Bernard in ministry at formerly Abundant Life Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In 2001 God led Bernard and Lois to form New Restoration Ministry in Niceville, Florida.

Growing relationships were very important to Lois but spending quality time with family was paramount. Throughout her life Lois was a source of unwavering love, strength and guidance to her family and friends; she had a heart for sharing and spreading the word of God by witnessing and leading people to salvation. Lois’ passion was to serve God and do his will to bless the church body.

Lois is survived by her husband, Bernard Hall Johnson Sr, of 61 years; her three children, Deborah Johnson, Bernard Johnson Jr. (Lisa Michelle) and Angela Johnson Smith; her siblings, Grason III, Richard (Jackie), Walter, Harry (Judy), Gloria, Louise, Dennis and Mae Carbo (Steve); ten grandchildren, Monae McKelvey (Jake), Brandon Patterson, Monica Howard (Dez), Blake Johnson (Kylie), Blayne Johnson (Olivia), Tamara Hodges (Janeris), Charity King (Mylana), Bronda McKisson, Breonna Bradley, Brea Bradley ten great grandchildren Jayce and Melaina McKelvey (Monae and Jake), Zion Malone and Kyson King (Charity and Mylana), Kennedy, Zahra, Kylen, Teigan Hodges (Tamara and Janeris), Jabree and Jayden McCullough (Brea) and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched and spiritually impacted. She is predeceased in death by her parents Grason Jr. and Catherine Harris, her brothers Larry and Donald Harris.

Homegoing services to honor and celebrate Lois Ann Johnson will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road NE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32547 on October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
