Linda Jeanette Whitt

Linda “Jeanette” Whitt, age 56, formerly of Troy, Alabama passed away at the home of her sister in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, after her courageous battle with cancer.  She was born the day after Christmas in 1962 in Troy to Furman and Margaret Barr Register.  Her passion was rescuing dogs and providing them with a loving home.  She was a true Auburn football fan who enjoyed fishing, talking on the phone, and spending time with her son and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Wade Sikes, one son, Timothy Walker, and grandmother, Nettie M. Barr.

Jeanette is survived by her son, Christopher Register of Troy, Alabama; siblings, Tony (Carolyn) Register of Pasadena, Texas, Charles (Brenda) Register, Freddie (Sandra) Bradley, Phillip (Cora) Bradley, Ronnie (Renee) Bradley, Eugene (Patricia) Kilpatrick, Norma (Mark) Turner, all of Troy, Alabama and Jennifer (Lonnie) Hataway of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Ralph Molyneux officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior.  Committal services will follow Tuesday, September 17th in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery, 902 South Brundidge Street, Troy, Alabama 36081 at 10:30 a.m.

Those ask to serve as pallbearers: Lonnie Hataway, Ronnie Bradley, Anthony Register, Mason Owens, Mitchell Trawick, and Todd Bradley.  Honorary pallbearers to serve: William Tetter, Kyle Boykin, Kameron Boykin, and Koby Richardson.
