Linda Darnell Phillips, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 5, 1947, to the late John Taylor and Mary Scott, Linda lived a life filled with love, dedication, and unwavering strength.
Linda was a woman of remarkable style, grace, and an unparalleled passion for life and family. She devoted her life to ensuring her loved ones were cared for, creating a legacy of love that will endure through generations. She was known for her warm heart and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.
Linda was a dedicated homemaker and spent many years as a Deli Manager at Winn Dixie, where she formed lasting friendships and served her community with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her eleven sisters and brothers; her son, Anthony Phillips; her daughter, Nikki Phillips; her great-granddaughter, Miracle Lane; and her grandsons, Lazaro Aguilar, Colby Aguilar, and Leroy Lane.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Belinda Faye Bundy (Carlton Bundy), Ronnie Phillips (former daughter-in-law, Veleta Phillips), Donnie Phillips, and Tony Christopher Phillips; her god son, Terrell Wilson (Kathy Wilson); her brothers, Johnny Scott (Nancy Scott) and Willie Scott (Rita Scott); her grandchildren: Yana Reed, Ladonta Randolph, Kevius Reed (Jasmine Reed), Nick Austin, Nakia Reed, Shanell Fountain (Gregory Fountain, II), Tonie Bramlet, Ramoan Hogans (Alycia Hogans), Samoan Massey (Clinton Massey), and Deron Hogans (Brook Hogans) and Kendra Wilkerson; bonus granddaughter, Dwan Anderson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and close friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. An additional time of visitation will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025, at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Railroad Street, DeFuniak Springs, Florida in DeFuniak Springs, Florida from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church, with Bishop Sylvester Robinson presiding. Following the funeral service, Linda will be laid to rest at Samson City Cemetery, Samson, Alabama.
Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
