Lillian H. Young, age 89, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ face-to-face on Thursday, November 12, 2020. She was born on February 15, 1931 to Felix and Cynthia Plata House in Rio Hondo, Texas. Lillian spent her childhood in south Texas where she was surrounded by innumerable aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. After her brother Madison enlisted in the service, she and her mother went on a road trip to surprise him at boot camp (that is another story) and they decided to take a detour after seeing Madison. So, they sought out her father’s family in Cornelia, Georgia. As a result, she decided to remain in Georgia and enroll in Tallulah Falls School. The first day of school she spotted the new math teacher out of the corner of her eye - and the rest is history. After Lillian graduated from high school, she and Bill were married in Cornelia, Georgia and made their way to DeFuniak Springs, Florida. After a year they purchased property in the Glendale community, where they raised their children..
Lillian was a servant of her Lord Jesus Christ, and she served Him faithfully. From teaching Bible study to cooking innumerable meals for those in need, she was constantly on the lookout for those needing any type of help.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years - Bill, and her beloved son, Drew.
She is survived by her daughters Cathy Hall, JoAnn Uszuko (Mark), and Liezel Young; grandchildren Rob Alti (Martha), Jody Hall, Luke Hall; Kaitlin, Alyssa, D.J. and Hailey Uszuko; Liam Young, and great grandchildren Cynthia and Moses Alti and Billie Hall.
An outdoor memorial celebration will be held on the grounds of Glendale Presbyterian Church at 1:00 on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
