Lewis Craig McLean

Mr. Lewis "Craig" McLean, age 63, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1962, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to William L. (Billy) McLean Il and Brenda Shaw McLean. Craig was a lifelong resident of Freeport, Florida. He attended Heritage Church of Freeport and graduated from Freeport High School in 1982. After graduation, he bought his grandfather's part of the family business and became the co-owner of McLean's Well Drilling and Pump Service, where he worked for over 40 years. He also helped with the family shrimp boat, the Cheri-Dawn, for many years. Craig was an avid deer and turkey hunter and an enthusiastic cast-net fisherman. He loved working, cooking, gathering with loved ones, boating, hunting, all things outdoors, and most of all, his family.

Craig is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Lewis McLean I, Ina Mae Brown McLean Garrett, and Kenneth Garrett; and his maternal grandparents, Adam Shaw, Irene Garrett, and Seaburn Garrett.

Craig is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rhoda McLean; his children, Brooke and Landon McLean; his mother, Brenda McLean; his father, Billy McLean; and his stepmother, Janice McLean; two sisters, Cynthia Dye (David) and Cheri Shields (Frankie); two stepsisters, Chris Jones and Carrie Bryant; his mother-in-law, Marie Rhodes; two sisters-in-law, Connie Rhodes and Rhonda Patton; two brothers-in-law, Tony Rhodes (Debbie) and Greg Rhodes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Heritage Church, 926 County Highway 83A, Freeport, Florida 32439 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Blake Pryor officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Hatcher Cemetery.  Those asked to serve as pall bearers are: Brooke McLean, Landon McLean, Lewis Adams, Andrew Foltz, BJ Moore, Tilton Morrison, and John Linder.  Honorary pall bearers are: Bill Ireland, Paul Day, and Dalton Morrison.
