Lewie D. “Donny” Manning passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, December 28, 2020 surrounded by family. He was born October 29, 1945 to Lewie Manning and Juanita Brown Manning in Walton County, Florida, where he lived his entire life. “Papa Donny” will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was the life of the party with his quick wit and unmatched humor. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth but most times it was hilarious. The rivers and creeks, bay, lakes, and every fishing hole in and around Walton County were home to him. He taught his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to love fishing and the outdoors as much as he did. Not only did he love to hunt and to fish, but he was also one of the best cooks you could ever meet. Family was the ultimate gift in his eyes and meant more than any earthly possession. Until we meet again, enjoy paradise, and entertain the angels sitting on the front porch of your new home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his baby brother Terry Manning, and his oldest brother James Leon Manning.
Donny is survived by his daughter Donna Arnold and husband Zack and his son Joseph Manning; four grandchildren, the light of his life, Lindsey Hubbard (Gary), Austin Arnold (Destiny), Amanda Harrison (Jeffrey), and Taylor Arnold; five great-grandchildren, Lexy, Lainey, Lyvi, Gunnar, and Archer; three brothers, Jerry, Larry (Billie), and Johnny; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory.
