Leisa Houston Manucy, age 64, ran into the arms of her Lord, Jesus, on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 25,1960; daughter to the late Judge Frances and Jacqueline “Jackie” (Norman) Houston. She attended Blackshear High School. She married Jimmy Manucy on September 14, 1991 and together they moved to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in 1994.
She was employed in various hospitality and cashier roles most her life. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets and making her family and friends laugh.
Her most outstanding achievement, however, was being mother to her two sons, Michael (Brandy) Britt and Bobby (Kristen) Britt, and daughter, Jessica (Mike) Simon; and grandmother (a.k.a. “Lolli”) to nine grandchildren: Savanna Brewster, Leanna Britt, Jaclynn Britt, Addy Simon, Sophie Simon, Mia Simon, Harper Simon, Kerrigan Simon, and Mikey Britt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Manucy; and by her brother, Michael Houston. She is survived by her three sisters, Toni (Paul) Azinger of Bradenton, Jami (Bodie) Raulerson of Panama City, Florida and Rebecca (Larry) Cason of Waycross; and by her dog she adored, Stella.
A time of visitation will follow the memorial service at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home, 659 Main St., Blackshear, GA at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Leisa’s name to ALAQUA Animal Refuge in Freeport, FL. Donations can be made through a link on their Facebook Page.
