Lawrence “Larry” Hale, Jr. who was known to be a sharp dressed, witty, and caring man passed away peacefully at his home in Mary Esther, FL surrounded by his loving family on June 10th at the age of 72.
If you knew him, you know that Larry had a zest for life and loved to make everyone around him smile by telling jokes and joining in with whatever he could do for a laugh. With that kind of mission in life, it was hard to find anyone who didn’t enjoy his company. When he wasn’t telling a joke, you would find him watching old western movies, collecting baseball cards, shopping and more than likely eating coconut shrimp at Red Lobster, but more than anything he loved spending time with his wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lorene Hale. He will be missed greatly by his wife, Patricia Smith; his two sons, Vincent and Rodney Hale; his brother, Ray Coffey; and his two sisters, Wanda and Gayle; and three step children, Charlotte, Lisa and Amanda. He was also the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren ranging in ages of 10 – 30 years of age.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Mary Esther located at 29 North Street Mary Esther, FL 32569 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in his honor would be much appreciated.
