Kenneth Julius Lorenz, age 83, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born June 14, 1938 to Julius and Martha Lorenz in Gurley, Nebraska. He was the youngest of four children. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served 20 years before retiring and moving to DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He met the love of his life, Pearl and they married June 24, 1960. He served faithfully at First Assembly of God in DeFuniak Springs as a Royal Ranger Leader, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and in many other capacities during the last 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son, James Lorenz.
Ken is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Lorenz; children, Teresa Williamson (Jim), Donnie Lorenz, and Kay Ammons (Larry), all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Martha Bullard (Johnathan) of Navarre, Florida, Dena Bryan (Eric), Christina Robbins, Josh Williamson, Amber Ammons, William Ammons, Kenny Lorenz (Krystalyn), Lulu Lorenz, Hunter Kinsey, Hailey Palliser (Jerry) and Arabella Lorenz, all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; great-grandchildren, Jaden Bullard of Navarre, Florida, Tyson Kershaw, Luke Bryan, Alysa Bryan, Faith Robbins, and Lacie Lorenz, all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; as well as numerous other family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at First Assembly of God of DeFuniak Springs beginning at 2 p.m. with Reverend Kenny Lorenz and Reverend Eric Bryan officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Cluster Springs Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
Those serving as pall bearers: Hunter Kinsey, William Ammons, Josh Williamson, John Paul Bryan, Johnathan Bullard and Luke Bryan.
