Kendrick Lamar Hogans, Sr.

Kendrick Lamar Hogans, Sr., age 54, of Crestview, Florida met his long-loved Savior in the early morning of Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was born July 13, 1967, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, the third of five children to Daniel W. “Deotris” and Marilynn A. Hogans. He married the love of his live, Anna Hogans, June 24, 2015. He worked for many years at Showell Farms before eventually retiring from his job as a bricklayer. Kendrick loved fishing and football and enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time. Most of all, he loved helping people in need. He was a member of the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Argyle, Florida. The greatest, most enduring, life-changing event in his life was the day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, in addition to his famous catch phrase, “Cuz, let me hold a little something.”

He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel W. Hogans; and his sister, Valeria D. Hogans.

Kendrick is survived by his loving wife, Anna Hogans; his mother, Marilynn A. Hogans of Ponce de Leon; two brothers, Depriest L. Bowers of Orlando, Florida and Danny C. Bowers of New Port Richey, Florida; one sister, Helena Hogans Byrd and husband, Darrell; sons, Kendrick L. Hogans, Jr. and Kenderick S. Hogans, two grandchildren, his loving godmother, Blondell Brown and husband Willie; one uncle, Eddie "Buck" Williamson and wife Joyce; one aunt, Yvonne Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that will truly miss him.  

A celebration of Kendrick's life will be held beginning at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
