Kay Michele Dunn Brock passed into glory January 28, 2023. Born August 12, 1960, in Valparaiso, Florida, she was a lifelong Fort Walton Beach resident. Kay was baptized at First Baptist Church Fort Walton Beach. Graduating from Choctawhatchee High School in 1978, she received her Bachelor’s degrees from the University of West Florida in 1982 and 1990, and a master's degree from Troy University.
Kay was a career educator over thirty-five years, and her most rewarding job was Chief Guidance Counselor at Choctaw. She was honored to be selected Teacher of the Year twice during her tenure at Choctaw. Countless students were placed on the road to success because of her expert teaching and counseling. Kay was an invaluable partner in her husband Stan’s florist business.
Kay was predeceased by her father, James Allen Dunn; and grandparents,, Mack and Linnie Dunn and Eric Cumbie and Lucile Cumbie Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Lane Brock; mother, Frances Dunn; sister, Pam (Robert) Allman; brothers-in-law, Steve (Pat) Brock and Scott (Suzi) Brock; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Davis Watkins Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 2, 2023 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Fort Walton Beach. The were be a private family interment at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach. Flowers are welcome.
