Juanita Louise Lane

Juanita “Anita” L. Rushing Lane, age 81, passed away on May 17, 2026. She was born on October 24, 1944, and was raised in the Euchee Valley in Ponce de Leon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Joseph Rushing and Eunice Sutton Rushing; sisters, Cheryl Ann Rushing Bailey, Lois Rushing Jenkins, and Polly Jo Rushing McGarigle; and brothers-in-law, Isiah Jenkins, Richard Bailey, and Fulton Rushing.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Terry Lane; daughter, Teresa Senn Smith and husband, Chad; son, Matthew Lane and wife, Beth Ann; grandchildren, Mitchell, Marshall, Kaiya, and Kianni; sisters, Jimmie Lou Rushing Griggs and husband, Carlos, and Evelyn Rushing Peeples and husband, Carl; brothers, Roy Rushing and Joe Allen Rushing and wife, Barbara; brother-in-law, Bill McGarigle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anita loved her family and enjoyed growing flowers and watching birds. Her strength and love will be missed immensely.

The family would like to thank the staff at Crestview Rehab, North Okaloosa Medical Center, and VITAS Hospice for their care and compassion.
