Joshua "Shane" Garrett

Joshua “Shane” Garrett, age 35, of Samson, Alabama passed away suddenly Monday, March 29, 2021. He was born January 8, 1986 in Milton, Florida to Stanley and Carolyn Pack Garrett. Shane was a huge Alabama football fan.  Fishing was his favorite pastime. Also, he was quite the artist and received many compliments on his work.  Shane was described as, “a big people person.”

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn McBryde; father, Stanley Garrett; stepfather, Tommy McBryde; brother, Richard Pack; grandfather, Charles Pack; aunt, Joy Clark; and cousin, Justin Knott.

Shane is survived by his daughter, Carol-Lynn Garrett; two brothers, Duane and Jeffrey Garrett; two sisters, Jessica and Heather McBryde; maternal grandmother, Faye Minahan and husband Jeremiah; paternal grandmother, Martha Locklear; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 10:30 until 11:30 at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 N, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 followed by a graveside service at Good Hope Congregational Church Cemetery, 6937 Highway 4, Baker, Florida 32531.
