Joseph Hollington Obituary

Joseph Andrew Hollington of Freeport, Florida, was called home on January 23, 2024, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Joe, as he was lovingly known, was born to Sara and J.W. Hollington on April 18, 1958. Growing up in Freeport, he met and married his love, Robin (Marse), on September 16, 1978. Together they welcomed two boys, Travis and Clif, whom were the delight of his life. During his boys’ younger days, you would often find him coaching or cheering at any of the ball fields in Freeport, being their biggest supporter. For many years, Joe worked off shore in multiple parts of the world, but in 1989 he had the opportunity to be home with his family and began a new career at CHELCO. At CHELCO, he flourished and enjoyed his time, but was excited for his new chapter of retirement in April of 2023. Joe was just Pa to all the grandchildren, but it was more than a name, it was a title earned from mutual love. There weren’t many things he enjoyed more than spending time with them. Most days after work, Joe could be found in the backyard playing with the grandchildren or on the weekends at the hunting camp sharing his love of the outdoors with them.

Joe is preceded in death by both his parents, J.W. and Sara Hollington; his brother Stanton and wife, Anita; brother-in-law, Ralph Cooper; and his beloved sister, Tina Knight.

He is survived by his amazing wife, Robin of forty-five years; two sons, Travis and Ashley (Blasbichler) and Clif and Jessie (Taunton); eight grandchildren, Ali Carter, Landon Rhodes, Aiden Garza, Mya Divens, Eli Hollington, Madi Hollington, Amelia Hollington and Vivien Hollington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mickey and Judy Marse; two brothers, Sydney (Melinda) and Tim (Cindy); two sisters, Terry Cooper and Stacey (Danny) Zuber; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Knight, and Brad (LaDawn) Marse; two nephews, Ryan (Amee) and Chad (Julianne) and their children, Hagen, Lewis, Lydia, Vera and Eliza, as well as Kelli and Kevin Carter; longtime family friend, Sharon Collinsworth; and lastly, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many more family and friends.

Travis Hollington, Clif Hollington, Landon Rhodes, Aiden Garza, Eli Hollington, Ryan Marse, Chad Marse, and Hagen Marse have the distinctive honor of being the pallbearers.

A time of visitation will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Heritage Church, 926 County Highway 83A West, Freeport, Florida, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Minister Harold Taunton, Sr. officiating.
