Joseph Levi Hall unexpectedly passed from this earth at home in Mossyhead, Florida and joined his beloved family members and friends in heaven on September 11, 2022, at the age of 43. He was born May 18, 1979, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joe was a self-taught chef by trade, starting out at Pizza Hut as a teenager and working his way up the culinary ladder. He spent the last couple of years doing what he had always wanted to do, own and run a food truck – “Love and Tacos”. He had a heart for the homeless and ministered to them in love with food, his food truck tips, warm blankets and clothes, and by speaking to them about the love and redeeming power of God. Joe was such a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews and to all kids in general. He loved gift giving, cooking, fishing, kayaking, camping, softball and anything that involved spending time with friends and family. He was such a joyful, happy, funny person that always had a smile on his face and love in his heart for others. He gave the most amazing hugs. He had a heart that was just too big for this world and life here on this earth. For those left behind, we will never be the same without him. This serves as a reminder that life is short (sometimes too short). Every moment should be valued, and love those around you dearly because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Kevin Hall; and all his grandparents who loved him greatly.
He is survived by his immediate family, who loved Joe with all their hearts and will be forever empty without him; his mother, Julie Hall Edwards; his other father for the last 18 years, Steven G. Edwards; five younger siblings and their families: sister, Bethany and her husband, Dima Proshchyn and children, Brendan and Cameron; sister, Cathryn Hall; sister, Emily and her husband, Jeremy Johnson and children, Olivia, Kaden and Konner; sister, Jennifer Hall Dowling; brother-in-law, Chris Dowling and their daughter, Lydia; and brother, Benjamin and wife, Kaitlyn Hall and their daughter, Ayroni; many aunts, uncles, cousins, so many friends, and his amazing Southgate (formerly Summit) Church family in Crestview, Florida. Also, a BIG part of the family, Judah Hall, a giant 5-month-old Great Pyrenees. Joe had gifted himself with Judah as an early birthday present this year.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Southgate Church, 100 Duggin Avenue, Crestview, Florida 32536 beginning at 6 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
