Jonathan Linn McClain was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 1, 1993. He departed this life on March 3, 2026 in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Jonathan moved to Fort Walton Beach in 2019 at the urging of his favorite cousins, Elantra Cordero and Aveysha Akings. Jonathan’s work family and friends at the Hurlburt Child Development Center were instructive and complementary as he settled into his dream job and most caring and supportive during his hospitalizations.
Jonathan is best remembered by family and friends as a most agreeable guy with a charming smile and attractive personality. He was adored by children, and indeed, for children he was a pied piper.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Pauline McClain; brothers, Tonkeno Robinson, Justin McClain, and paternal twin, Joshua Micheal McClain; loved and devoted sons, Jonathan Linn McClain Jr., and Greyson Noah McClain; aunts, Tencie McClain and Betty (Wayne) Andrews; uncles, Willie (Jackie) Rouse, Kenneth (Dorothy) Rouse, and Paul McClain; and Step-father Keith Jones; as well as a host of loved relative and friends.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Roberts; Maternal Grandmother, Gustava McClain; uncles, Robert McClain, Ellis McClain and Lennon McClain; and aunt, Ozie Banks.
Jonathan’s favorite color was red and we encourage attendees to wear something red.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL, 32547 beginning at 11:00am. A visitation will be held an hour prior beginning at 10:00am.
