John Godwin III Obituary

John Marshall Godwin III (Skip) went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27th, 2019.

John was born on August 9, 1956 in Tucson, Arizona to John Marshall Godwin Jr and Nona Geraldine Godwin. John was a graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School class of 1974.  He was a veteran who served our country in the US Army for 15 years.  John enjoyed bowling on leagues locally for over 30 years.  He also enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his roses and spoiling his precious poodle Jet.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was always willing to help others in any way he could.

John is survived by Shaila Godwin; children, John Marshall Godwin IV, and Tania Celebertti; grandchildren, Jacob Celebertti, Caleb Godwin, Nathaniel Rios, Alejandra Godwin, Sommer Godwin and Shiloh Godwin.  He is also survived by his siblings, Laurie Warren, Jeri Brown, Dawn Thumma, Terri LaPee; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved poodle, Jet. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nona Godwin; and precious poodle, Baby Girl.

A time of visitation will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 on Monday, January 6 at 1:00 pm with a memorial service following at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in John’s memory.
