Jim Alfred Benton, age 81, of Miramar Beach, Florida passed away March 17, 2020. He was born in Perry, Florida on June 13, 1938 to his parents, Olan and Gladys Mae Benton. He worked in the financial industry as a Regional Director. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and watching basketball games. Jim really loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his beloved bride and apple of his eye, Kay, his beautiful daughters and loving family, especially his grandchildren and the University of Georgia (UGA) Bulldogs.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kay Benton; daughters, Kim Battiste (Wes) of Destin, Florida and Jill Caraballo of Canton Georgia; grandchildren, Danielle Foels (Travis) of Tampa, Florida, Kaylee Battiste of Destin, Florida, Sydney Brooks (Landon) of Marietta, Georgia, Zach Brooks of Canton Georgia and Sofia Caraballo, of Canton, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olan and Gladys Mae Benton, and his sister Judy Ives.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at Impact Life Church, 1021 US Highway 98, Destin, Florida, Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm where the Reverend John Skiles will be officiating. This celebration will be private and for family only due to the Coronavirus restrictions.
