Jill L. McKinney

Jill L. McKinney, age 69, of Youngstown, Florida passed from this life Sunday, May 1, 2022, in Panama City, Florida. Jill was born June 9, 1952, in Great Lakes, Illinois to Clarence Jerome and Victoria Edith Juhrend Leither. Although she managed several pharmacies throughout her career including Eckerd's and Revco, she later worked at the Walton County Property Appraiser's office until her retirement. Jill enjoyed playing pool, shooting darts, going on cruises and playing slot machines. She especially loved flowers and hummingbirds. More than anything, Jill loved spending time with her children, her grandson and close friends and family. Jill forever changed the lives of those she touched. Although she faced many battles on her own, she would still do anything to make sure that her loved ones never had to do the same. She was brutally honest, but the most loyal friend. Always kind to everyone, she never judged others for being different. She was smart, stubbornly independent, and always sincere. Like the sun, Jill could be alone and still shine.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Leither.

Jill is survived by two sons, Scott Mckinney and wife Teresa, and Terry McKinney and wife Charlotte, all of DeFuniak Springs; her daughter, LeAnn Pecori and husband Chris of Youngstown; one grandson, Preston McKinney of DeFuniak Springs, and one sister, Joann Pollock and husband Doug of Oregon.

A celebration of Jill's life will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 6:00 P.M. with Minister Joel Davis officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Flowers are accepted, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
