Mrs. Jessica Susie Salazar age 53, passed away April 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 15, 1972, in Graham, Texas to the late Antonio and Amelia Sanchez Ramirez. Known for her bright and vibrant personality, Jessica had a love for music and dancing. She was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Jessica loved spending time with her family, especially hosting BBQ’s and swimming together. She had a passion for gardening and found peace and happiness nurturing her plants. Above all, her favorite pastime was being with her beautiful grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
Jessica was preceded in death by her fiancé, Lawrence Alexander; her mother, Amelia Ramirez; her father, Antonio Ramirez; her brothers, Pilar Ramirez, Crespín Ramirez, and Simon Ramirez; her sister, Janie Ramirez; and her niece, Erica Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Salazar; her dear partner, Kevin Wright; seven children, Lawrence Erik Alexander, Joshua Alexander, Laura Alexander, Isabella Salazar, Juan Salazar II, Jaime Salazar, and Emily Salazar; twenty beloved grandchildren; four brothers, Jacob Ramirez, Vince Ramirez (Sylvia), Antonio Ramirez Jr., and Jose Ramirez (Katie); two sisters, Noelia Simpson (Tim) and Amelia Mendoza (Gilberto); as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Jessica will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 12:00 p.m. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
