Jean Quiroga Obituary

Jean (O'Brien) Quiroga, age 65, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, was carried into the loving arms of our Lord on September 20, 2025.  Jean fought hard with a two-year battle with cancer.  She was born July 21, 1960, to the late Guadalupe and Celestina Quiroga in Pigeon, Michigan.  She was surrounded by her family members during her passing at home.

In 2000, she met the love of her life, Donnie Kever. Together they built and shared a strong love for twenty-five  years.

Jean is survived by the love of her life, Donnie Kever; her daughters, Sally Jean (Rodney) Pritchett of Montgomery, Alabama and Jessica Lynn Goff and family of Traverse City, Michigan; sons, Matthew (Dawn) and family of Tucson, Arizona and Jeremiah (Samantha) and family of Europe; seven wonderful, beautiful grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart; brothers, Guadalupe (Delia), Quiroga, Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, Miguel (Stacey) Rodriguez of Clayton, Ohio, and Smiley (Betty) Villa of Detroit, Michigan; sisters, Bertha Olivo of Detroit, Michigan, Linda (Gilberto) Yepez of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Rosita (Gene) Mascorro of Bad Axe, Michigan, Yoli (Mike) Zinger of Clio, Michigan, Joan (Rick) Quiroga (twin sister) of Tucson, Arizona, and Carmilita (Jeff) Bedford of Caseville, Michigan; her best friend, Jason (Chico) Boswell of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; brother in law, Michael and his wife, Liz Kever; and numerous nieces and nephews whom will also miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Quiroga, Sr. and Celestina Quiroga; sisters, Dora Wilson, Guadalupe Lombardo, and Esperanza Pina; and brothers, Juan Reyes and Arturo Quiroga.

Jean loved joking around and making people laugh.  Her pretty smile lit up when she was with family and friends.  She always had a quick comeback for everyone!  She and her twin had a tight bond.  They always would know what one another was thinking or feeling.  They had a strong love for one another.  Jean was very special in all our hearts. Although she leaves us with broken and sad hearts, we will always keep our precious memories of her close to our hearts.  She is now resting in a life of eternity.  Jean loved her cats, Fluffy and Bubbles.  Her cats meant the world to her!  She had a passion and love for crafting, crocheting, cross stitching and making her quilts.  Each one was made with her love.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory.
