Janet Truman Walrath passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Janet will be remembered for her faith, strength, resilience, kindness, wisdom, and wonderful British humor. In addition to cherishing time with her family, she enjoyed gardening, spending time at the senior center with friends playing cards and line dancing, watching the tennis opens, and listening to her favorite English crooner, Engelbert Humperdinck. She was truly the heart of her family and touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, John Walrath (Jenny), David Walrath, Darryl Walrath, and Helen La Fontaine; her grandchildren, Eric Walrath, Ryan Walrath, Elana Borremans, Sarah Walrath, Kate Walrath, Charles La Fontaine, Margaux La Fontaine, Ashley Walrath, Charles Walrath and Jerred England; and her great-grandchildren, Bryson Walrath, Madelyn Walrath, Beckett Walrath, Sylvia Walrath, Eleanor Walrath, Dani Borremans, Charlie Borremans, and Everest La Fontaine.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. David B. Walrath; her son, Charles Walrath; and her grandson, Danny Walrath.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gulf Coast Hospice for their compassionate care and support. A private graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery on July 11th, where Janet will be laid to rest beside her husband, son, and grandson.
She will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
