Jamie Leeann Starkey, age 36, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born December 9, 1989, in Milton, Florida, to Jeffrey Lynn Starkey and Edith Mary Clark. Jamie grew up in DeFuniak Springs, surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly. She worked at Harbor Freight for five years, where she was recently promoted to Logistics Supervisor. She was a beautiful person, always there to help a friend. She had a kind soul and one of the biggest hearts, with a side of sassy. Jamie was a strong woman, who overcame many obstacles, never giving up on herself. She faced life’s challenges with courage and determination, making her loved ones proud. Above all else, Jamie’s greatest joy was being a mother to her beloved son, Bryar. Her love for him was endless.
Jamie is preceded in death by her grandmother, Reita Marie Starkey; her father, Jeffrey Lynn Starkey; and her niece, McKenzie Ann Clark Spence.
She is survived by her son, Bryar Michael Hurley; her mother, Edith Mary Clark; her brother, Jeffrey Lynn Starkey, Jr. (Kelley); her sister, Sherry Lynn Clark; her two dogs, Sassy and Allie; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins. She also leaves behind her extended family members Dawn Gilbert (children); Tammy Hurley (children and grandchildren). Along with her Harbor Freight family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mossy Head Community Center, 63 Stewart Circle, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435. Refreshments will be provided by the family.
In honor of Jamie’s beautiful spirit, guests are invited to wear one of her favorite colors—pink or leopard print.
