James Leon Wheatley

James Leon Wheatley, 76, passed away on January 16, 2020 in Sun City Center, Florida.   Jim was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 2, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Yoko. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Smith, her husband, Warren, son Joe Wheatley, his wife, Diane.  He has 5 amazing grandchildren, Megan Smith, Joshua Smith, Paige Wheatley, Jackson Wheatley, and Jared Wheatley. 

Jim proudly served his country for 26 years in the United States Air Force.  In 1985, he retired in Fort Walton Beach, Florida after being stationed at Eglin Air Force Base twice in his career.  He continued working with civil service for 15 years. Jim was member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. 

Services will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Florida on January 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends one hour prior.  Interment with military honors will follow service at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
