James Donahue Adams, age 64, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 in Crestview, Florida. He was born February 5, 1956, in Bermuda to Allen Jack and Sylvia Wheatley Adams. Donnie, as he was known to family and friends, attended Ponce de Leon High School, but graduated from Walton High in 1974. After graduation, he joined the Air Force, and retired twenty-one years later. When outdoors, fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes. When indoors, Donnie loved reading books written by his favorite two authors, Stephen King and Clive Cussler.
He is preceded in death by both parents and his wife Pamela Adams who passed in 2012.
Donnie is survived by one brother, Allen Adams and wife Star of Sumter, South Carolina; two sisters, Phyllis VanWinkle of Geneva, Alabama and Pat Pryor and husband Keith of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Brother Toby Stone officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
