James William Bales

Bill Bales (83) passed away peacefully on June, 18 2025 at home in the presence of his loving wife, Pat; stepdaughter, Cissy; and special, family friend, Margaret.  

He was born November 27, 1942 in Coshocton, Ohio to John and Helen Bales by whom he is preceded in death. Bill was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Bales Carpenter and brother, Dick Bales. He is survived by brother, Tim Bales (Ellen); as well as, by stepdaughter, Cissy Harlan Reynolds (Steve), and stepson, Wood Harlan.  

A successful entrepreneur, having founded and operated About Face Blinds in Destin for three decades, Bill was passionate about his company and being a businessman. He loved his family and was wed to Pat in 1999. He relished fishing and spent many days on the Gulf of Mexico and the Choctawhatchee bay fishing with friends and family.

A graduate of Florida State University, Bill and Pat "loved" Florida State Football.

The family extends a special thank you to Gentiva Medical, and believes "Chelsey was a God-send".  

A service will be held at Bill's home, 140 Indian Bayou Drive, in Destin, July 10, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.
