Jacob Burkett

Jacob Burkett, 20, of Crestview, Florida, passed away May 25, 2022. He was born April 19, 2002, in Panama City, Florida to Katerina and Tomas. Jacob attended local schools in Bay and Okaloosa counties. While attending Jinks Middle School, he played soccer for the school team and played the trumpet in the school band. While at Bay High School, he played soccer and he participated in the Air Force J.R.O.T.C. program. After his family moved to Crestview, he attended Crestview High School and joined the Army J.R.O.T.C. program, where he successfully finished his Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps in April 2018. Jacob gave his life to God on December 5, 2021 and was baptized at Crosspoint Church in Yreka, California. He enjoyed all of his jobs working for a charter boat in Destin, Hungry Howie’s, and Doodlebuggers. Jacob had many hobbies. He loved to skateboard and hunt, but fishing was one of his favorite activities that he enjoyed with his best buddy, Blake, since they were little boys.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Katerina and Tomas; siblings, Mirek, Eliska, Michael, Honza, Alanys, Elsa, and Romana; nephews, Devrin and Damon; and best friend, Blake.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022 at Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial, 492 East Pine Avenue, Crestview, Florida 32539.
