Jackie “Jack” Counts Obituary

Jackie (Jack) Glendell Counts, 46, of Crestview, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2024 at Northwest Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview. He was born in Booneville, Arkansas on June 3, 1978. Jack graduated from Old Union High school in 1996 and acquired his associate’s degree in Avionics Systems Technology.

Jack was an accomplished musician, having played with the Symphony Orchestra while stationed in Germany. He loved to make people laugh and was known for his hard work ethic. Jack loved learning and had a love for life in general; he especially loved being around family and friends.

Jack retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 2019 after twenty-two years of service. He continued serving his country as an employee of Booz/Allen/Hamilton in the United Kingdom until he retired in 2021.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clem Clarence Counts; grandmother, Helen Idell (Holmes) Counts; stepgrandfather, Robert Byron Jerry; stepgrandmother, Colleen (Cunningham) Jerry White; stepfather, Leslie Beal Jerry; father-in-law, Ramon Bajada; and mother-in-law, Roberta (Germo) Bajada. He is survived by his wife, Josephen (Josie) Germo (Bajada) Counts; son, Zackery Leslie Counts; brother, Whitney Gene Smith; his mother, Mitzi Kay (Counts) Jerry; and siblings-in-law, Henry, Sheila, Johnna, Nieva, Angelo, Mark, Grace, and Faith Bajada.

Service will be held at Davis Watkins Crestview Memorial Funeral Home at 492 East Pine Avenue in Crestview, Florida on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1 Cemetery Road in Pensacola, Florida on Friday, January 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. those who are able to attend the service can meet at the funeral home Friday morning at 1130am and follow the funeral home and family to Barrancas National Cemetery.

Jack’s kindness, love and quirky nature will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed immensely.
