Ian Harwood Spurlock, 34, of Destin, Florida, passed away in his home on June 21, 2025. Born on December 14, 1990, in Northern San Diego, California, Ian lived a life marked by quiet brilliance, deep kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
A devoted son, brother, and friend, Ian is survived by his loving parents, Jeffrey and Taddie Spurlock, and his adoring sisters, Virginia and Caroline Spurlock. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jimmie and Wilma Spurlock, and Phillip and Connie Troullos.
Ian graduated as valedictorian from Family Christian Academy and later earned his associate’s degree from Louisiana State University. He applied his talents as a home movie theatre specialist, a field where his intelligence and attention to detail shone through.
Despite being the smartest person in any room, Ian carried his brilliance with humility. His gentle nature, sharp wit, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. He never sought the spotlight, but his presence lit up the lives of those around him.
Ian loved playing video games with his sisters, collecting silver coins and other collectibles, and relaxing with his beloved cats, Gus and Duke. He cherished simple joy, quiet time with family, a well-earned laugh, and the comfort of home. He was hard-working, deeply loyal, and profoundly loving.
Ian’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and quiet strength.
A private memorial service with immediate family will be held to celebrate his life.
