Hollie Truman Myers, age 79, passed away July 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1945 in Wright, Florida, to Hollie Benjamin Myers and Onie Bishop Myers. Truman lived a life filled with passion and joy, embracing the beauty of nature through his love for hunting and fishing. He found solace in the great outdoors, where he created countless memories that he held dear. A devoted fan of Niceville Football, Hollie was known for his spirited support of the team, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family alike. However, it was his role as a grandfather that brought him the greatest joy. Hollie adored spending time with his grandbabies, creating a legacy of love and laughter that will forever resonate in their hearts. His gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded is death by his parents, Hollie and Onie Myers.
Truman is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Shirley Myers; three children, Bobby Myers (Angela), Teresa Myers, and Billy Myers; five grandchildren, Catrina Evans (Wesley), Mitch Grantham, Holli Grantham, Carlie Myers and Logan Myers; seven great grandchildren, Wyatt Evans, Lillian Evans, Peyton Grantham, Zane Grantham, Saylor Martin, Kreedan Grantham, and Oakley Mae Myers; one sister, Mary Myers; one daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Nye; and best friends, Leve Dumas, Diane Pickett, Ronnie Allen, Robert Mixon, Durena Gainey, Thomas Gainey, Jerry Weekly, and Randall Cook; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida beginning at 3:00 p.m. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior.
