Helmuth Dietrich Anton Warns, age 82, passed away December 11, 2021 in Destin, Florida. He was born on March 14, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, to Dietrich Warns and Therese “Ria” Sick Warms.
Helmuth was an Army veteran and spent his career working for the City of Chicago Water Department and retired as chief draftsman. He was a major train enthusiast, he loved classical music, opera, and he collected stamps.
Helmuth is survived by his wife, Lorraine Witek Warns; son, Kevin H. Warns (Janet); daughter, Lisa Warns (Danny Estrella); grandchildren, Kevin C. Warns, Kyle A. Warns (Nicole), and Caleb R. Warns.
A funeral mass will take place Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church 7211 W. Talcott Avenue, Chicago, Ill. Burial will follow the service at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to American Diabetes Association or Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois
