Heidi Mori Obituary

Heidi Ann Mori, age 73, passed away on Sunday May 18, 2025, in Destin, Florida. She was born April 15, 1952, in Rushville, Illinois to the late Denton and Jane Logue.

Heidi graduated  from Lanphier High School in 1970, earning the distinction of ranking 5th in a class of 406. In 1973, she earned her Registered Nurse Diploma from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Her dream was to become a neurosurgeon, but she found her true calling in nursing. Heidi was an excellent nurse, especially in the emergency room. One of Heidi’s favorite sayings was “kill ‘em or cure ‘em, treat ‘em and street ‘em”.

On March 24, 1989, Heidi married Kenneth Mori in Franklin, Ohio in a “musty, dusty law library”. Throughout their lives together, Heidi dedicated herself to caring for Kenneth, always thinking about him, and watching over him.

Heidi enjoyed playing golf and occasionally would let Ken win. She ran two marathons and numerous half-marathons so she could drink wine and eat dark chocolate. She loved to read for the pure joy of it, but her true joy was roller skating. Heidi was poetry in motion. She always kept her roller skates in the trunk of her car, just in case! She introduced Ken to “zingers”, which were her high-performance skate wheels of which she was very proud. Heidi loved dancing to live music played by her favorite local band “Flash Flood”.  Heidi was a woman of strong faith that loved the Lord and attended numerous churches, even at a young age, with friends.

Heidi is preceded in death by her parents, and her “sister”, Tonya (her childhood German shepherd). She is survived by her “sister”, Connie (Denny) Dyche; son, Tony (Mandy) Haislar; son-by-love, Tommy (Nikki) Ingram; and daughter, Amber (Paulraj) Samuel; grandchildren, Kierstin Haislar, Carter Haislar, Cooper Haislar, Colton Haislar, Gabriel Samuel, Nirupa Samuel, Aurelia Samuel, Courtney Wilder, Ashley Samara, and Hailey Ingram; many great-grandchildren; as well as, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Yawata; and brother-in-law, Richard (Leslie) Mori. One of her goals in life was to have twelve children and through her own, her children-by-love and dear friends she called “framily”, she exceeded her goal. Despite facing numerous challenges in her life, her love knew no bounds. Heidi leaves behind a loving husband and a multitude of friends and family who miss her dearly.

The family is very grateful for the love and support from Ken and Heidi’s Bible Study group and “Framily”.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Harry T’s Restaurant at the Harborwalk Village, 46 Harbor Boulevard, Destin Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in her name to a charity of your choice
