Harold F. Destin, Jr.

Harold Francis Destin, Jr., age 64, of Destin, Florida, passed away on November 30, 2019. He was born on March 3, 1955, in Fort Walton Beach, FL, to the late Captain H.F. “Chubby” Destin, Sr. and Patsy Berry Destin. Harold was a longtime boat captain and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his five grandchildren.  

Harold is survived by his son, Andrew Cavitt (Lori) of Paducah, KY; daughter, Kristin Kimmons (Jared) of Crestview, FL; sisters, Brenda Destin Johnson (Theron) of Freeport, FL and Susan Destin (Jim Evans) of Destin, FL; grandchildren, Kadence and Sydney Cavitt, Lucas Bowen, Kylee and Ryne Kimmons; nieces and nephews, David Knight, Jerrid and Layla Johnson, Justin Destin, Naomi Son, Kimberly and Jessica Williams, and Lara Jesse; honorary brother and sisters, Dewey and Nina Destin and Susie Davis; numerous extended family members, and friends who became family. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Destin United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Marler Memorial Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association in Harold’s memory.
