Harold Collinsworth went to be with our Lord and the love of his life on August 6, 2025. Born to Grover Collinsworth and Bernice Alford Collinsworth Allen on May 1, 1943, at the family homestead on Collinsworth Road in the Gaskin Community of Westville, Florida. Harold’s life was marked by hard work, a love of the outdoors, and an unmatched ability to fix anything mechanical. A lifelong member of Gaskin First Baptist Church, Harold was raised on the family farm, where he spent his early years hunting, fishing, riding horses, and, of course, getting into his fair share of mischief. Over the course of his career, Harold wore many hats: from timbering logs and pulpwood to becoming a skilled locksmith at Merritt Metal Factory in Lockhart, Alabama. He later worked as a Foreman at First American Farms, owned by Bunge Grain, and ultimately finished his career as a Supervisor at Cemex in Freeport, Florida. Harold was well-known for his ability to repair practically anything with old-fashioned know-how. In his later years, Harold found contentment in the quiet company of his beloved wife, “Gene.” Together, they enjoyed peaceful moments on the front porch, drinking coffee and watching the world go by. Harold’s love and dedication to family were unmatched.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margene Collinsworth: and his parents, Grover Collinsworth and Bernice Alford Collinsworth Allen.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Collinsworth; his son, Loren Collinsworth; his granddaughter, Brittanee Collinsworth (Jimmy Boswell); great-grandson, William Boswell; brothers, Doug Collinsworth (Maggie), Kevin Allen, and David Allen; sisters, Zeddie Allen Bailey and Vivian Collinsworth Moore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gaskin First Baptist Church building fund.
A celebration of Harold's life will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 at Gaskin First Baptist Church, 107 County Highway 181E , beginnning at 12:00 p.m. with minister Joel Davis officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior. Committal will follow in the Gaskin Cemetery.
