It is with great sadness that we announce that Hanie Habib Nasri passed away and met the Lord on January 2, 2025 at the age of 68. Hanie was born on June 25,1956, in Cairo, Egypt to Habib Nasri and Marcelle Nassif Gerges.
Hanie is known for his dedication and love to his community, family and friends. His unwavering faith in the Lord always set an example of an extraordinary spouse, father, and devoted Christian.
He was easy to love and a friend to many. If you knew him, you could feel his care and generosity to others. He is remembered by many in the community due to the kindness, passion, and positivity he brought to the world.
A devout member of the catholic community in northwest Florida, Hanie graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Cairo University, Egypt and pivoted into entrepreneurship after immigrating to the United States in 1979. Hanie created a variety of restaurants and operated as a general contractor in residential construction. He took pride and thrived in the realm of creative entrepreneurship.
Hanie and Marie married in 1982 and lived in the Destin, Florida area for forty-five years, where they raised their three children.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Nasri; sons, Paul and Patrick Nasri; daughters-in-law, Christine and Golbahar Nasri; son-in-law, Norris Lewis, Ill; siblings, Wafaa, Father Wafik, Shady, and Shereef; and grandchildren: Eden, Norris, IV, Paul, Jr., Angela, Phillip, Noah, Shepard, and Annabelle; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Destin, Florida. Immediately following the burial service at Destin Memorial Cemetery, a reception will follow in order to spend time with loved ones at Corpus Christi Catholic Church Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society’s Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge in Birmingham, Alabama or Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
