Gwindol Harver Campbell was the second oldest child of the late Cleo Patra Campbell. He was born on December 25, 1940 in the Euchee Valley Community of Walton County, Florida. He attended Walton County public schools and graduated from Tivoli High School in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Harver worked a number of jobs in long-haul trucking. As an entrepreneur, he owned a janitorial company and a local night club. Harver was a longtime member of the Masonic Faith Lodge 171 and an active member of the Indian Mound Elks Lodge. Harver lived a full life; enjoying music, travel, friends, and family. He passed away on September 12, 2022 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia L. Campbell; his sister, Millie McDaniel (James); his three children, Linconyer Campbell-Baldwin (Brad), Thaddeus Campbell and Melaine Oliver; two step-children, Guy Whitley and Tavia Whitley; and his grandson, Nicholas Longino. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews; devoted, loyal cousins; other dear relatives; and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwendolyn Campbell; his three sisters, Gladys Watkins, Billie Turner, Jackie Higgins; and his brother, John Campbell.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, beginning at 2 p.m., at St. Joseph's AME Church, 210 Graham Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with Reverend Ernest Powell officiating.
