Gregory Royce Peters

Gregory Royce Peters, 73, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, died July 6, 2021 peacefully at his home.

He was born on October 20, 1947 to Chester Royce and Frances Jean Peters in Denver, Colorado.

Greg attended St. Olaf's college and devoted his life to music, graphic art design, and the studies of theology and genealogy. Greg owned two music stores in Minnesota, was a performing musician, and enjoyed teaching others in his music shops. He then transferred his artistic skills to opening a commercial graphic art design shop, A1 Signs. You can still see some of his work standing along gulf coast businesses and neighborhoods today. He spent his latter years immersed in theology and genealogy; caring deeply for all his work and showcasing it to his children. He also loved sports of all kinds and was everyone's favorite "Coach Peters" teaching soccer and football to his kids.

He married Jill Johnson in 1969 and they had 10 children. They adored their children and cared deeply to see their faith be shared with their children.

Gregory is survived by his loving children, Aaron Peters and wife Jeong Weol, Jerome Peters and wife Alyssa, Elisa Meggs and husband Brandon, John Peters and wife Nichole, Joy Robison and husband Bobby, Daniel Peters and Edit, David Peters, Valory Roberts and husband Jason, Ellynne Tredway and husband Jonathan, and Matthew Peters.  

Grandchildren are Kaylee Peters, Calob Peters, Grace Meggs, Abram Meggs, Ethan Robison, Samuel Peters, Benjamin Peters, Ava Kate and Beaux Roberts.

He is also survived by three siblings Brian, Timothy, and Rebecca Peters.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jill Peters, parents Chester and Frances Jean Peters.

A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Watkins Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Committal services will follow at Destin Cemetery.
